Chelsea are looking determined to turn the tide in their favour after a few unexpected results so far this term. The reigning champions are ready to make amends for their mistakes and will be more than happy to hold on to their title, which they righteously earned in the last term.
The Blues are having some grave problems in their midfield and had to play a number of crucial games without their main man in the midfield N’Golo Kante. The player could not appear for a number of matches due to an injury that left the Blues in dire straits. However, the player has made a comeback on the side and has resumed his job for the Premier League winners but might need someone capable enough to help him in the near future.
Chelsea brought in French youngster Tiemoue Bakayoko and English enforcer Danny Drinkwater in the side in the summer transfer window. While Drinkwater has not been able to feature for his new club this season due to an injury problem, Bakayoko’s performance in the midfield has been scratchy, leading their gaffer Antonio Conte to look for a new player to add to his squad.
The Italian mastermind has been looking to land the Everton midfielder Ross Barkley to his side for some time and the deal almost materialized during the last summer transfer window but was cancelled due to the disagreement on the part of the English ace, who cited the reason to be his injury. However, the Blues might look to instill their interest in Barkley once again in January.
The player is one of the best midfielders for his current club Everton and is capable of plying his trade at a variety of positions including the role of an attacker. The 23-year-old can be a very good addition to the side for the Blues and might help them keep the pressure on the opponents with his ominous presence in the middle of the pitch and keep significant possession of the ball at his disposal.
Barkley has fallen in the pecking order at the Merseyside club following his rift with their former coach Ronald Koeman over the signing of a new deal. He is in the final year of his contract with the Toffees and it is quite unlikely that he will renew his contract with them. This has given Chelsea ample confidence for landing the player in the near future and they might once again table a bid for him in the next transfer window.
