Shocking news from French media source, Le10Sport claim that Chelsea are willing to offload star winger Willian in order to fund a move for the seemingly forgotten PSG starlet Lucas Moura.
Willian, meanwhile, despite performing really well since arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2013, has found life difficult under Antonio Conte and has recently lost his place to Pedro in the regular starting XI for Chelsea. The same reports further suggest that the Blues are seeking around £27million for Willian.
While it may seem like a fair deal for the defending champions of England, considering the fact that Willian has not been at his best under the tutelage of Antonio Conte, it’s also a very risky stance from the Chelsea management.
Lucas Moura has been one of Brazil’s brightest young talents for a long time now, but due to an overwhelming number of new high profile transfer arrivals, his performances were always shadowed one way or another.
However, that being said, the Brazilian International could actually be a perfect signing for the Blues.
The Brazilian sensation has always been a consistent performer in the French top flight. Scoring an impressive 34 goals and providing 34 assists since moving to the French capital in 2013.
He is a fast and explosive winger who knows how to use his strengths to get the better of opponents. One of the most impressive assets of the 25-year-old Brazilian is the directness in his game. Blessed with immense dribbling qualities and that famous Brazilian flair, stick too close to him, and he’ll put you off in a blink of an eye.
Furthermore, hardened by years of experience in the top flight, Lucas Moura’s overall game is more matured now, meaning the likelihood of him getting used to the philosophy of Antonio Conte is far greater than it was two-three years ago. In addition, the Brazil International can either be used as a chance creator or a prolific winger, which will surely offer Conte an extra dimension in the attacking department.
Lucas Moura has all the necessary components needed to thrive in the Premier League. And at the age of just 25, the PSG winger still has his best years left in him, therefore, it might be a reasonable decision for Chelsea to spend a fortune on the PSG sensation, who definitely has the potential to make a significant impact at Stamford Bridge.
