Burnley are amidst a good season in the Premier League and have already won five of their first eleven matches so far. The Clarets are showing resilience in every encounter they are facing and have also done well against big teams like Tottenham and Liverpool, while victories against teams like Everton and reigning champions Chelsea have given them a world of confidence to finish in a far better spot in the league table than the last term.
Under the stewardship of Sean Dyche, Burnley are looking sharp in the frontline and solid at the back. However, their midfield has not been able to offer anything out of the ordinary and might need some new faces to instil vigour in it. The English manager will be wary of that fact and might look to add a good player, who can marshal the midfield for his side in the near future.
Among a number of players eyed by Dyche, the name of the Bristol City ace Bobby Reid is right on the top of the target list. The English midfielder has been a part of his current club since 2011 and has risen through the ranks to establish himself as a regular in the first team. He has made 125 appearances so far for the Robins and is a key figure in their squad.
His consistent displays for Bristol City has attracted the eyes of a number of managers from the Championship as well as Premier League including that of Dyche, who might look to add him to his lineup in the near future. However, he might have to fight with the likes of Brighton and Hove Albion and Leicester City to take possession of the prized midfielder.
Bristol City, on the other hand, are not looking to let go of the 24-year-old gem and might offer him a new contract to extend his stay. The Englishman is serving his last 12 months of contract at the Ashton Gate Stadium and might be lured by the opportunity to play in the Premier League, creating a worrying situation for the Robins.
Burnley did not spend much during the summer transfer window but might look to for reinforcements in the next one. Reid is one of their top transfer targets and might turn out to be a very good inclusion to the side, adding a lot of stability to their midfield.
But is he the man that can help them take their next step in the top flight?
