Brighton made it four games unbeaten after winning 1-0 away at Swansea City. Glenn Murray knee was the difference between the side in the 30th minute. Below is how Brighton’s players and substitutes were rated.
Matt Ryan (6):
Another good performance from the Australian goalkeeper. Had nothing to do in the first half. In the second half he made a great save to deny Tammy Abraham.
Bruno (6):
Great defensive header to clear all the way out of his box. In the second half, he defended well to help The Seagulls to keep a clean sheet.
Lewis Dunk (7):
A nice 55 yard ball out to the right flank straight onto Anthony Knockaert’s foot. Great header from the centre-half which was well tipped over the bar by Lucas Fabianski. Made some good tackles and headers away to round off another solid afternoon for the English centre-half.
Shane Duffy (7):
Great interception to cut out what would have been a tap-in, Abraham. Another good tackle to stop the threatening run of Abraham. Made some good tackles and headers away to round off another solid afternoon for the Republic of Ireland centre-half.
Gaetan Bong (6):
Did well to contain the threat of Nathan Dyer in the first half. In the second half, he made some good tackles and interceptions to stop Swansea’s attacks.
Anthony Knockaert (6):
Great delivery into the box to set up Glenn Murray for the opening goal. A bit sloppy in the second half gave away the ball a couple of times. He also made some good tackles and runs to help Albion to all three points.
Dale Stephens (6):
Another solid display from the central midfielder. He had an ambitious effort to try and lob it over Fabianski from 35 yards out. In the second half, he made some good tackles and interceptions.
Davy Propper (7):
Another great display from the central midfielder. Made some great passes to find Jose Izquierdo and Pascal Gross in the first half. He then made some greats tackles and interceptions to thwart The Swans.
Jose Izquierdo (7):
Good run to take on one or two players but cut out for a corner. Terrorised Kyle Naughton in the first half with his pace and willingness to try and make something happen. In the second half, he struggled to get past Naughton and was replaced by Solly March in the 65th minute.
Pascal Gross (7):
Good attempted chipped effort in the 11th minute was tipped over the bar by Fabianski. Good shot 25 minutes in but it was deflected wide for a corner. In the second half, he struggled to make anything happen and was replaced by Izzy Brown in the 83rd minute.
Glenn Murray (9):
What a performance from the striker. He showed great hold up play in the first half and has drawn two or three fouls from Swansea players. Not his best finish on the half-hour mark but hits his knee and finds the back of the net. Should have been two gone in behind but his shot was deflected behind for a corner. In the second half, he again used great forward play to move The Seagulls up the field. Was replaced by Tomer Hemed in the 80th minute.
Substitutes:
Solly March (5):
Came on with 25 minutes left in the game for Izquierdo and linked up well with Knockaert and Hemed a couple of times.
Tomer Hemed (6):
Came on with ten minutes to go for goalscorer Murray. He made some good defensive headers away and also held the ball up well.
Izzy Brown (4):
Came on for Gross with seven minutes left but his only chance was in the last minute when he was forty yards out and had an open goal to aim at but made a pass and completely messed it up.
