Arsenal are currently standing in the fifth spot on the league table, courtesy their sixth win in the Premier League this season, which came in their last match against Swansea City. Consecutive goals from Sead Kolasinac and Aaron Ramsey saw the Gunners seal the match and they are now aiming for more similar results in the near future.
The North London club did not start the season on a very promising note, having lost three of their first eight matches in the campaign. However, two back to back victories in their last two matches against Everton and Swansea have given them some impetus as they are eyeing more positive results to challenge for European places yet again.
Arsenal are also looking to strengthen their lineup with the inclusion of some new faces into their side. They are reportedly interested in the Hungarian goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi, who is currently playing for Red Bull Leipzig.
The 27-year-old has been the star of the show for the sensational newcomers in German football and almost led them to finish at the top of the table in the Bundesliga in the last season. His prowess beneath the crossbars, coupled with his agility and ball-handling ability, has made him a hot favourite among a number of big-name European clubs including Arsenal.
The Gunners are eyeing a suitable replacement for their legendary goalkeeper Petr Cech, who has entered the final 18 months of his contract with the North London club. The Czech Republic international is 35 now and it is quite unlikely that Arsenal will look to extend his contract. So it does not come as a surprise that they are now in search of a new shot-stopper.
Peter Gulacsi has been one of the most impactful members for the RB Leipzig side since his arrival in 2015. He has made 63 appearances so far for the German side and has earned himself 15 clean sheets to show for his efforts.
His confident and fearless attitude, even in the face of grave danger, has made him one of the best keepers in the Bundesliga and might even look forward to moving back to the Premier League, after his failed stint with Liverpool, not so long ago.
At the Merseyside club, the Hungarian international made quite a few appearances for their Under 23 side but never had the chance to play for their senior side. However, if he makes a return to the Premier League with Arsenal, his experience of the five years spell at Anfield might come handy for the 27-year-old.
Liverpool may have made a mistake selling him quickly but is he the right man for the Gunners?
