Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is preparing for life without Alexis Sanchez. It is being reported that the Gunners boss has identified Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace and Yacine Brahimi of FC Porto as two possible replacements for the wantaway Chilean star. Brahimi’s chase would be interesting for Arsenal to pursue. The 27-year-old winger who naturally plays on the left wing is a star for the Portuguese outfit and is an exceptionally talented playmaker.
Brahimi has made over 100 appearances for Porto since his arrival in 2014 and has a decent goal return of one goal every three matches for the club.
The versatile winger can play on either wing or in behind the striker is a French-born Algerian international. Arsenal scout has identified the dynamic winger as a potential replacement and it is now being reported that Arsene Wenger is interested in the 27 year old from Porto. Arsene Wenger believes the arrival of Brahimi will pave the way for the exit of Alexis Sanchez.
Brahimi’s transfer would be an interesting one especially if Wenger wants the winger to replace superstar Alexis Sanchez. Brahimi has impressed everyone so far but he is still untested in the big waters of the English championship. He is yet to play for a major European club on a regular basis as a first-team regular.
Brahimi, at 27, has another good four to five years at least up his sleeve and if Wenger does bring him in, he will hope that the winger can go on to make it big and live up to his potential.
Arsenal have had an average start to the season and with the Sanchez saga yet to sort itself out, the club seems to be waiting for an impending doom. Sanchez is yet to sign an extension on his contract and with his contract running out at the end of the current season there has been talk about the Chilean heading for the exit door.
Manchester City were one of the many suitors who wanted the Arsenal superstar and their deadline day bid was initially accepted but then later rebuffed by Arsenal who could not bring in a suitable replacement for Sanchez.
There is talk again of the Sanchez deal going through again in January and if the player does leave, Wenger will want an impact player instantly to keep up the quality in his Arsenal side. Whether Brahimi is the right choice for that it remains to be seen.
