Brighton & Hove Albion were on the verge of a huge result as they almost grabbed a precious point of Manchester United last weekend. Chris Hughton’s side were arguably the better side as they displayed a very disciplined performance against the Red Devils.
But a deflected strike from Ashley Young snatched three points from their jaw as the Seagulls were denied a deserving point from that game. Next up against them will be Crystal Palace, who just mustered their second win against Stoke City in the last match.
Brighton looked very comfortable against the mighty Red Devils as they successfully kept them at bay for most of the game and barring Ashley Young’s deflected shot, United hardly created chances. Palace do have one of the most encouraging attacking lineups as Wilfried Zaha can single-handedly demolish any team if he is on song.
Brighton have a pretty envious home record as only Manchester City have been able to pick up three points at the Amex Stadium so it could be a very hostile atmosphere for the visiting side.
Predicted 4-4-2 Brighton & Hove Albion Starting Lineup Against Crystal Palace
Defence
Mathew Ryan was very conscious in the last match although he could not have prevented the goal. The Australian international must be aware of the threat Palace will offer and therefore, needs to be pretty alert the Eagles.
Lewis Dunk has been pretty effective in the Seagulls backline but the luck was not in his favour as Ashley Young’s shot got deflected off him which got them crashing at the Old Trafford. The lanky defender will be in the thick of things again. Shane Duffy has been involved in every match so far this season and is likely to continue in the backline.
Gaëtan Bong and Bruno will start the proceedings from the left side and right side of the defence respectively.
Midfield
Dale Stephens has been pretty crucial for the Seagulls in this season which is their first campaign in the English top flight. The midfielder will be there to take care of the things in midfield.
Davy Propper will pull the strings in the midfield.
Attack
Anthony Knockaert was a constant menace through the left channel as he gave Ashley Yong a very hard time. The 26-year-old will be hoping to recapture his form in this highly tempted derby. José Izquierdo will start from the left side.
Glen Murray and Pascal Groß will lead the line. Here is how they might lineup:
