The Citizens of Manchester are flying high at the moment and have just dropped two points so far this season.
Meanwhile, Leicester City have struggled to find form throughout August and September; and have made a mixed start to their Premier League campaign. They are currently 12th in the Premier League table, six points behind the Top 7. The Foxes, however, seem to have turned the table recently and have gone on a six-match unbeaten run since their last defeat at the hands of Liverpool in September.
The last three fixtures between Leicester City and Manchester City produced 13 goals. Manchester City have also not beaten Leicester City in their last two visits to the King Power Stadium. However, the Citizens are currently scoring an average of three goals in every Premier League game, so the confidence of the Sky Blues of Manchester will be very high going into the match.
Going by recent history and form, we can expect a tightly contested match where both teams will be looking to snatch all three points in a high scoring game of football.
Claude Puel will likely try to keep things tight in the midfield by opting for a 4-4-1-1 formation rather than a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3 against Pep Guardiola’s men.
4-4-1-1 Leicester City Predicted Lineup To Face Manchester City
Defence
The back five of Leicester will remain unchanged with Kasper Schmeichel resuming his goalkeeping duties in goal. The established back four of Christian Fuchs, Wes Morgan, Harry Maguire and Danny Simpson is expected to start again and will be tasked to stop the threats of Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling and David Silva.
Midfield
Ben Chilwell and Vicente Iborra have both picked up knocks and will be evaluated before their home clash versus Manchester City.
If Chilwell can pass the fitness test, he will be in line to return on the left flank. Demarai Gray is expected to start on the right-hand side of the midfield.
Andy King might replace Iborra in the Leicester midfield if the Spanish international drops out due to injury.
Attack
Riyad Mahrez is expected to be deployed in a central, play-making role while Jamie Vardy will once again lead the line for the Foxes.
Marc Albrighton, Kelechi Iheanacho and Islam Slimani are all set to start from the bench. It is highly likely that Shinji Okazaki will join them since the Leicester City boss might opt for a more cautious approach to this game.
Nampalys Mendy, Robert Huth and Matty James remain long-term absentees with the latter two closing in on first-team returns. But the match against the Citizens comes too soon for the Leicester duo.
