German champions Bayern Munich will host Hannover 96 this weekend, in an attempt to bounce back from their disappointing 2:1 loss to Borussia Monchengladbach last weekend.
Despite the defeat, however, the Bavarians still league the Bundesliga table with 29 points. Although second placed RB Leipzig could potentially be level on points with Bayern, come the end of this matchday, if results go in the favour of the Leipzigers.
Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes will be determined to get rid of his side’s problems as they ready themselves to face a challenging task of overcoming the highly resolute Hannover side.
Here’s the predicted Bayern Munich lineup ahead of their clash against Andre Breitenreiter’s men this weekend.
Defense
Second choice keeper Sven Ulreich will once again be the man between the sticks for FC Bayern. The former Stuttgart goalkeeper has been excellent in recent games and will be hoping to preserve a clean sheet this weekend.
In central defence, youngster Niklas Sule could once again be chosen ahead of experienced centre-back and International star Jerome Boateng. The former Hoffenheim defender has been excellent so far this season. He will partner Mats Hummels, as the duo look to keep out the likes of Jonathas and Martin Harnik.
Star fullback David Alaba is apparently experiencing back problems and is doubtful to feature against Hannover. Therefore, Spanish defender Juan Bernat could take up his responsibility as a left back while young German sensation Joshua Kimmich will be deployed as the right back for FC Bayern.
Midfield
It will be a tricky decision for head coach Jupp Heynckes to choose the midfielders in the Bayern’s starting eleven, considering the fact that most of the in-form players are currently injured.
Star player Thiago Alcantara suffered an awful injury and is sidelined for a long term. In his stead, new signing Sebastian Rudy will start as the midfield string-puller, alongside Spanish midfielder Javi Martinez.
Attack
Bayern faces a major injury crisis in the attacking department at the moment. Key players such as Franck Ribery, Thomas Muller, and Arjen Robben are either injured or doubtful to start against Hannover.
New signing Corentin Tolisso might get a starting berth in the team. The Frenchman will be deployed as the central attacking midfielder while James Rodriguez and Kingsley Coman will start as the wingers.
Polish striker Robert Lewandowski will lead the charge for the Bavarians as they look to outmanoeuvre the strong looking Hannover defence and get some three points from the match.
