West Bromwich Albion have been on a very uncharacteristic run this season as Tony Pulis’ side have failed to garner a win in the last eight matches. There were severe expectations from a team who had an excellent last season but hopes have started to fade, following their disappointing run of form this season.
However, The Baggies will try to recover from their loss against Manchester City when they travel to the John Smith’s Stadium to take on newbies Huddersfield Town. The Terriers had relished their win against mighty Manchester United but their celebrations were shortlived as they couldn’t catch up with their performance against Liverpool, who blanked them 3-0 in the last match.
Pulis doesn’t have the imminent threat of losing his job but if the situations persist, the club hierarchy might have to look out for an alternate option. The experienced gaffer has tweaked his strategy a bit as he is trying to implement an attacking style of play but has failed so far. It remains to be seen how he plans his formation against the Terriers.
Predicted 4-1-4-1 West Bromwich Albion Starting Lineup Vs Huddersfield Town
Defence
Ben Foster looked sloppy at times and the former Manchester United stopper cannot take this game lightly as the Terriers do have the numbers to inflict damage.
Jony Evans has had a brilliant transition in the last few years as he has gone on to establish his authority in the Premier League pretty dominantly. The defender will be in the Baggies backline to cut out the Terriers threat. Ahmed Hegazy has impressed since his introduction and he will partner Evans in the defence.
Craig Dawson’s injury has caused a real problem for Pulis. The right-back has been sidelined for a prolonged period and it would be another chance for Allan Nyom to impress. Kieran Gibbs will start on the left side of the defence.
Midfield
Jake Livermore will take the place in the holding midfield. The English international will provide cover for the back four.
Attack
James McClean could be restored to the starting lineup. The Republic of Ireland winger has found it hard to find a regular game time and Pulis could give him a chance to shine.
Gareth Barry has defied his age and has been a regular for the Baggies. he will start in the advanced midfield role alongside Grzegorz Krychowiak. Jay Rodriguez is likely to be stationed on the right flank.
Salomon Rondon will bear the Baggies attack on his shoulder. Here is how they might line up:
