Things are looking set for Liverpool this season. Jurgen Klopp’s side have managed to get out of the torrid form they had been earlier in the season and have been performing like they used to do before. Klopp has maintained a pretty set team which has been their main USP this season.
The addition of Mohamed Salah has turned out to be the icing on the cake. The Egyptian winger is looking sharper and hungrier than ever before and has already been in a rampaging mode. There had been various opinions over his imminent future as his last stint with Chelsea made many people declare him a flop. But since then, the player has undergone a drastic change and the result is evident.
Despite Liverpool’s fluent form, a number of players haven’t been able to make the cut while few of them are facing different problems. Here are a few players Liverpool might sell in the January transfer window.
Philippe Coutinho
It might sound awkward but January could be the best time for the Liverpool number 10 to explore a new challenge. Barcelona’s interest in the player is not new and the player is tipped to be the successor of Andres Iniesta.
Liverpool managed to stave off the Catalans as they rejected a number of bids from the Spanish club. But the Catalans are likely to renew their attempt in January and it could become difficult for them to resist the offer.
Barcelona are ready to splash the cash for him and might make a whopping €120m offer for the player. It could be the right time to cash in on the player as football is a very uncertain game and one cannot guarantee what happens in the future.
Lazar Markovic
The Serbian winger has failed to succeed at the Anfield since his move back in 2014 and has been ignored by Jurgen Klopp this season. He has shown his quality when he was with Hull City on loan but it hasn’t amounted to much as he has been left on the Liverpool bench for most of the time.
Danny Ings
The former Burnley striker is desperately in dire need of game time and keeping him in the Merseyside is of no use to the club currently. So Klopp might send him on a short-term loan to check his capability on the field which could help him in the future.
