Devastated. One word to aptly describe the present condition of Crystal Palace in Premier League this season. The East London club is in of the worst seasons in their history in top-flight football and might be on the verge of getting relegated from the top tier.
Gaffer Roy Hodgson, however, is optimistic about his side’s stay in the Premier League and is willing to do everything possible for that. The veteran Englishman, though, is wary of the fact that they don’t have enough firepower at their disposal and might look to bring in a few new faces into the side, who can change things at the Selhurst Park.
Among a number of forwards who might be scouted, the following players might be on the top of the priority list for the Eagles.
Jack Harrison (New York City FC):
The English Under 21 international has been in good form of late and has shown great composure and attitude in front of the goal for his side New York City FC in the Major League Soccer. Harrison is known for his ability to score goals from a variety of ranges and can be a handful against even the best defenders on his day.
Crystal Palace are in dire need of a genuine goalscorer and the 20-year-old sharpshooter can be a good option for them in the near future.
Islam Slimani (Leicester City):
The Algerian striker has not been able to play to his true potential at his current club Leicester City and might look to force his way out of the club during the next transfer window. The South London club could capitalize on this opportunity and rope in the 29-year-old to add to their strike force in the near future.
Known for his ominous physicality and the ability to get the better of the opposition defenders, Slimani can be a good addition to their side nevertheless.
Danny Ings (Liverpool):
The English ace is finally back from two horrific injuries and is ready for first-team football. He recently scored four goals for the Liverpool U23s and surely deserves some game time. Liverpool might not be able to offer him the same but Hodgson can lure him to the Selhurst Park and can even turn him into the first choice, helping his side and the player himself.
