Swansea City will try to overturn their form when they host Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend. The Swans haven’t lived up to the expectations this season and have been far from impressive.
They Wales side are currently juggling with their form as they are hovering just outside of the relegation zone and any casualty in the next match would allow their counterparts to pounce on them.
On the other hand, it has been a splendid journey for the Seagulls. It was not the start they were craving for, but the newly promoted side has acclimatized themselves quite beautifully as they have lost a single match in the last five games and are likely to pose a tough challenge to the Wales giants.
Clement will be relying on his side’s brilliant record against the sea-siders. Swansea haven’t lost to the Seagulls at the Liberty Stadium since 1992 and will be hoping to keep the record intact.
Predicted 3-5-2 Swansea City Starting Lineup Vs Brighton & Hove Albion
Defence
Lukasz Fabianski has had his ups and downs this season but has maintained a steady growth. The Polish keeper will try to keep things tight against the Seagulls.
Clement is likely to go with a three-man backline. The gaffer has a number of injuries to the squad, so he might go with the safer option. Alfie Mawson, Federico Fernandez and Mike van der Hoorn will be the three defenders for the Swans this weekend.
Midfield
The five-man midfield formula didn’t work against Manchester City but the manager is expected to continue with this formation. Sung-Yeung Ki will start in the deepest position in the midfield. The absence of Leon Britton and Renato Sanches has paved a way for him and he should embrace this opportunity with both hands.
Leroy Fer will hold a position in the midfield. His tireless drive from the midfield will create space for his side which could be exploited. Tom Carroll has evolved in a much-matured player and Pulis is likely to give him a major role. With Martin Olsson out injured Sam Clucas needs to put a convincing display in the left wingback role.
Kyle Naughton’s performance hasn’t been able to garner much attraction but he will have to put a good shift in this match.
Attack
Tammy Abraham’s spirited performance earned him a call-up to English team and he would like to celebrate it by finding the back of the net in this match. Jordan Ayew will be his strike partner.
Here is how they might line up:
