Chelsea are currently looking to turn the tide in their favour after a thrashing at the hands of the Italian giants Roma, who took them to the swords in their last Champions League encounter earlier this week and put three past them to come out victorious. The confidence of the reigning champions has been rocked by the defeat right before their mega clash against bitter rivals Manchester United in the Premier League next weekend.
The Red Devils will be visiting Stamford Bridge under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho and will be rekindling their old rivalry against the West London club. The Blues will do their very best to take three crucial points in order to retain the Premier League crown.
With the kind of form they are currently in, it will not be an easy job for Chelsea to get a win under their belt from their next encounter. The reigning champions were also not able to show their true colours in their last match in the Premier League against a lowly placed side like Bournemouth and won by a 1-0 scoreline against the Cherries.
The Blues’ lineup might look like this in their next match.
Defence
Chelsea were shambles at the back in their game against Roma, who scored three goals against them. The likes of Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta will look to wipe off the embarrassing defeat from their mind before going into the match against the Red Devils.
Thibaut Courtois will once again start beneath the crossbars for the Blues.
Midfield
There is bad news for the Blues’ fans, as their main man in the midfield, N’Golo Kante is not yet ready to make his comeback in the starting lineup to give stability to their midfield, which has been through turbulent times in the last few matches. In his absence, French youngster Tiemoue Bakayoko will be partnering Cesc Fabregas once again in the middle of the pitch while Marcos Alonso and Davide Zappacosta will be speed healing the right and the left flanks, getting the ball into the final third to assist the forwards.
Attack
Eden Hazard played well in the last match against Bournemouth and also scored the winning goal for his side. He will be starting alongside Alvaro Morata and Pedro to lead the line for the Blues and help them to a much-needed victory over Manchester United in their next match.
This is how they might line up:
