Watford are currently in brilliant form in the Premier League, having won four of their first nine matches so far this season. The Hornets are looking good in every department on the pitch and are dishing out memorable performances with every passing match.
Since the arrival of their new gaffer Marco Silva at Vicarage Road in the summer, the team that finished at the 16th position in the last term, have transformed into a formidable unit with the inclusion of a number of new players into their side. The Spaniard is eyeing some more new player and is willing to add more firepower to his side in the near future.
Among the players who are on Silva’s target list, the name of the Liverpool striker Danny Ings is right on top of the pile. The English striker has been a part of the Merseyside club since 2015 following his move from Burnley but has been restricted mostly to bits and pieces appearances by the Reds over the last couple of seasons.
The player’s tenure at Anfield has been ravaged by injuries, which saw him miss a number of matches for Liverpool. The Reds are presently having a number of top-class forwards at their disposal, which has further jeopardised the future of the 25-year-old and he might be sent on loan in the near future.
With the likes of Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Southampton already lurking to bag the striker once he is released on loan by Liverpool, Watford is set to face hard competition to avail the services of Danny Ings in the future. Marco Silva, however, looks determined to rope in the player to provide some serious impetus to his strike force in the near future.
A veteran of almost 200 matches, the English forward has unquestionable technique at his disposal, which enables him to be a constant threat in the final third. He has scored 59 goals to show for his efforts in the Premier League so far and can be a very good addition to the Watford lineup, helping them to keep their place certain in the top half of the table for the rest of the season.
Watford have given their fans several reasons to smile this season, one of them being their firepower inclusive of players like Richarlison, who has made a feast of the opposition defenders’ weakness and has already scored three goals so far this season. If the Hornets can add Ings to their frontline, it will help them to add more goals to their tally in the near future.
But is Watford the best place for Ings?
