Having won four of their first seven games this season, Tottenham Hotspur are looking in good touch in the Premier League and are looking on course to repeating their performance from the last season. However, Spurs will be looking to improve on their gallant displays from the last term and will aim to win the coveted silverware this season for the first time in their history.
The North London side have no reasons to not become the champions of England this season, with their attacking spearhead Harry Kane looking in a gallant form at the moment. Apart from him, players like Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli have proved themselves as two of the main attackers, especially in the case of the English international, who is due to be offered a new contract by Spurs.
The 21-year-old has, however, been far from his best, faltering in the middle of the pitch quite a few times this season. He has not been at his best for his club as well as his country, involved in troubles due to his obscene gestures on the field.
That, though, might not have an impact on the North London club’s resolve of agreeing on new terms with the youngster to extend his stay. Spurs are confident that the English attacker will have a great future ahead of him and might not let him leave and join one of their rivals to spend the rest of his career with them.
Dele Alli, who rose meteorically through the ranks at his present club since his arrival from MK Dons in the year 2015, has been one of the best weapons in the arsenal of the London outfit. Gaffer Mauricio Pochettino is aware of that fact and is nurturing him the right way to get the best out of him for the future.
The 21-year-old English youngster starred for his side in the last term with a subtotal of 18 goals to his name, almost helping his side to the top of the pile. He also laid down nine assists for his side, some of which were invaluable.
This season, however, he has managed to just score twice so far and is still fighting to find a strong footing in the league. Tottenham will be hoping that the player will be back at his best before getting his new contract, which will reportedly involve a significant pay hike.
Alli is already a world-class star but can Spurs keep hold of him?
