Neymar’s world record transfer is still fresh in everyone’s mind. Paris Saint Germain paid a whopping £200m+ to Barcelona to bring the player to Parc Des Princes and he has been enjoying a fine run of form for his new club this season.
Barcelona ace Luis Suarez reportedly received information about Neymar’s possible departure from Paris Saint Germain. Despite his big-money move to the French giants, Neymar reportedly doesn’t want to spend his entire career on French soil and is linked with a move to Real Madrid in a few years time.
Persistent injury problems have curtailed Gareth Bale’s game time on the pitch and the former Tottenham Hotspur winger has struggled with his performances recently. And it is quite possible that the former Barcelona man could be the one to replace him in the future.
Lionel Mesi’s dominance at the Nou Camp was supposedly one of the reasons behind Neymar’s shocking transfer. The Argentine has been the one-man force in the last few years and Neymar feared that his place in the side might be in danger due to Barcelona’s over-reliance on Messi.
PSG also brought in Kylian Mbappe from Monaco in a staggering £161million deal which is set to be sealed next year. The French teenager has signed an initial loan deal as PSG also have to satisfy the Financial Fairplay regulations.
PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi is facing trials over his involvement in the World Cup media rights scandal. FIFA is currently investigating this matter and if they find any wrongdoings, the Qatari owner could face criminal trials.
This could have a huge effect on Neymar’s long-term future and PSG might have to resort to selling the Brazilian. Neymar has started to enjoy life at Paris but his stay could be short-lived if the billionaire investor decides to offload him in a bid to satisfy football’s governing body.
This could also be a win-win situation for Real Madrid, who should be ready to seize this opportunity by making a move for the former Barcelona wonder kid. Florentino Perez has been a long admirer of the player and he would be more than happy to splash the cash on one of the best players in Europe at the moment.
If the above situation arises, the French club might be forced to sell the player at a much lower cost. Only a few clubs have the financial muscle to afford his fee and Real Madrid do have the ability to bring the player. A number of players like Luis Figo plied his trades with both the clubs and it could be an interesting scene to see how Barcelona supporters welcome him if the move goes through.
But do you think Neymar will ever dawn a Real Madrid jersey?
