Hatem Ben Arfa is now planning hard to resurrect his career. The French international has fallen down the pecking order at Paris Saint Germain and is considering leaving the club in the January transfer window in a bid to make his presence felt in the European circuit.
The 30-year-old has fallen down the pecking order since the arrival of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe and now wants to leave the club to give his stuttering career a much-needed push.
Ben Arfa also must be eyeing a place in the World Cup squad but he needs to at the peak of his game in a bid to convince national team boss Didier Deschamps. The player, who once was regarded as the future of French football, hasn’t given up yet and will make himself available in the transfer market.
PSG were looking for opportunities and even asked the player to leave in the summer demoting him to the reserve squad but with the help of his lawyer, the former Newcastle United playmaker found his place back in the squad and is now gearing up for a new challenge.
Here are three Premier League clubs that should look to sign him:
Southampton
The Saints have struggled for creativity in front of goal. Mauricio Pellegrino’s side haven’t been able to produce goals and definitely need some shakeup in the squad.
Pellegrino decided to trust his available players and didn’t spend on any attackers in the summer but now it seems they seriously need some players to inspire them in the attacking third and Ben Arfa could make a serious impact. The French ace has a good knowledge of the Premier League, having played here for a long time and it won’t take much time for him to settle at the St Mary’s.
Stoke City
Mark Hughes’ side boasts of a number of attackers but currently, the Potters are struggling and need a decisive playmaker to guide them through the tough times. Ben Arfa has a tremendous work rate although he appears to have a little bit of an attitude problem but when it comes to quality, he still holds all the necessary attributes to flourish at the top level.
With PSG contemplating to offload the player, he would command a much much lower fee than his counterparts and Hughes should take this gamble.
Bournemouth
Eddie Howe’s side is one of the most creative teams in the Premier League but this season hasn’t been the same. The Cherries are languishing in the relegation zone and are in dire need of reinforcements.
Ben Arfa could be a solid addition for them. The winger can be stationed anywhere in the front three and could be a game-changing signing for Howe.
