Leicester City are looking to making a comeback in the Premier League after dismal performances in their first seven matches so far this season.
The Foxes are now looking to make amends for their mistakes and are willing to get as many points as possible in the future. They have won only a single game so far and it is going to be a big problem for them if they don’t find a solution to this.
The gaffer Craig Shakespeare is wary about his team’s composition especially the backline. The players evidently lack experience at the top flight and it is his first priority to get some experienced defenders into the side without much ado. One such player, who has been eyed by the Foxes for some time now, is the French defender Bacary Sagna.
The 34-year-old is presently a free agent and was left by his former club Manchester City at the end of the last term. A veteran of almost 500 matches, the player has been tipped to make a comeback in the Premier League, with the Foxes looking to bring him into the side in the near future.
The player dished out a number of brilliant performances since his arrival at Arsenal from French Ligue 1 side Auxerre and was one of the best right backs in the Premier League for several years. He went on to join the Citizens in 2014 and played a very influential role in stabilising their defence in the last few seasons.
The Foxes are currently facing a crisis in their backline and have conceded 12 goals so far in their seven matches they have played this term.
They are currently placed in the 17th position in the league table, with the probability of entering the relegation zone looming large upon them. However, they are hopeful that the inclusion of players like Sagna can help them get the advantage in the future and they can use his experience to revive their position this season.
The veteran defender, who had a memorable career with a couple of the biggest clubs in England, might take this as an opportunity to show that he is still capable of performing well at the top level. This will also be a very good opportunity for the young players at the King Power Stadium to learn from one of the stalwarts of the game, which will help them develop as players in the future.
