Last month, the Daily Star had reported that Championship outfit, Leeds United, would be lining to make Orlando City’s striker Cyle Larin sign on the dotted line in the January transfer window in order to beef up their attacking arsenal. The youngster also drew attention from Turkish giants Besiktas and apparently, he has a price tag of £2million being slapped on his collar.
Lately, there has been the emergence of reports stating that the prolific youngster is keen to make a move to Europe in order to ply his trade and to uplift his development’s process. Having kept him on their radar, it goes without saying that the Whites are seemingly likely to stand ahead in the queue to bring him to the Elland Road in the upcoming transfer window if he forces his way out of his current club.
Under the tutelage of Thomas Christiansen, Leeds United have churned out a decent start to their league season as they have collected 23 points from their first 10 games and are currently placed at the 4th spot in the league table. They are indeed one of the favourites and Christiansen should not be complacent considering the catastrophes his side had to endure during the business end of last season when Garry Monk was in-charge of the club.
Although unfamiliar to the animosity which English football has on offer Larin is a typical orthodox striker who makes good use of his height and knows exactly where the goal is.
He has smashed 43 goals for Orlando City in three seasons and frankly speaking, he does have the calibre to find the back of the net on a regular basis. He has the requisite pace and strength and is one of the blossoming young talents in the game.
The 22-year-old, from what we have vouched for him, seems to offer meticulous link-up play and draws his teammates into the equation in the final third. Besides, he creates chances for his side, toils relentlessly up front and has showcased immense maturity and calmness up front, considering his age, grabs his chances very well and always tries to breach the opposition’s defence every game he plays.
There always exists the element of risk while pursuing a starlet and even many notable players had failed to find their feet on the English soil. However, the Canada international seems to have the touch of class in him to help the Peacocks in their quest of bagging a promotion to the Premier League and it would be interesting to see whether Leeds United march forward to sign him or not.
