Carlo Ancelotti was sacked by Bayern Munchen for a dip in form and now is wanted by various Premier League clubs. With Leicester City having no manager at the moment, West Ham suffering from their woes off late after a thrashing at London Stadium to Brighton and Hove Albion and Everton fighting the relegation battle, Ancelotti could be going to any of these clubs.
However, it is Roman Abramovich who will look to bring him back to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have had a struggle in October, with back to back league defeats and a draw against Roma in the Champions League. This has seen them drop to 4th position, 9 points behind leaders Manchester City with just nine games in.
Antonio Conte has been given a statement by the Chelsea owner, who as the football world knows is very ambitious. Chelsea have had over eight managers in the last decade. If thing don’t turn around in the next 5-6 games, Abramovic could take action. Antonio Conte too wants to go to Italy although his focus is completely on Premier League right now.
Ancelotti was present at Stamford Bridge in the game against Roma which gave a few hints to the fans. He has always been one of the best in business having managed giants like Bayern, Juventus, Chelsea, PSG, Parma, Milan and Real Madrid. He has won domestic titles in Germany, England, Spain, France and Italy.
He is the only manager to win the Champions League three times. One could argue that he has conquered Europe. At Chelsea, he won the domestic league, league cup and the FA Cup. Just before the end of 2011 season, he was sacked as Chelsea finished 2nd in the table.
In spite of winning the double, he was fired. He has been a part of four Champions league finals and also has won the Club World Cup twice with Real Madrid and Milan.
He could be the man that Roman will prefer for the second time. It isn’t really right to sack Conte as of yet. There might be defensive flaws, disharmony among players, lack of confidence, tiredness due to more games and hectic training schedules but he is the man to be trusted.
The Italian mastermind has a habit of winning leagues and he showed how one can use the bench in spite of lack of depth, against Watford. The players are willing to work harder and thrive. Chelsea are on top of their Champions League group too. In Conte, they must trust till he chooses to stay. He is fearless, smart and isn’t afraid of the sack.
A chance might be needed later and Ancelotti is a decent option but at the moment, Conte is Chelsea’s only boss!
