Jack Wilshere’s renaissance after coming back from injury has been one of the talking points of this season. The former England prodigy, largely infested by a series of injuries throughout his career, was a rather forgotten figure at Arsenal last season when he was shipped off to Bournemouth on loan.
Although Wilshere’s form didn’t get any better at Bournemouth, the midfielder made his return to his beloved Arsenal this summer. And he has looked very impressive in his performances this season, often being the lone spark plug in the Arsenal attack, in the Europa League games.
However, Arsenal are in haste to extend the midfielder’s contract as his current one expires at the end of this season, meaning the 25-year-old could leave Arsenal for free next summer. Defending champions Chelsea have already started considering a swoop for the talented midfielder on a pre-contract this January.
Following an excellent match against Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League, where he helped his team create a lot of chances and was also involved in the winning goal, Jack Wilshere was rewarded with his first appearance in the Premier League this weekend, in the emphatic win over Everton.
Despite featuring on the final phase of the game, Wilshere managed to provide an assist for Aaron Ramsey, who sealed the victory for the Gunners.
A move to Chelsea could be very interesting one for the talented midfielder. The Blues had signed Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater in the deadline day this summer, but he is yet to play a single game due to his injury. Therefore, Antonio Conte could fancy someone like Jack Wilshere in the midfield.
A few weeks ago, Chelsea were looking for out-of-sorts Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, but as it seems, fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur currently stand as favourites to sign the 23-year-old. However, Jack Wilshere could be a perfect alternative for the Everton midfielder.
The presence of two defensive-minded midfielders in N’Golo Kante and Tiemoue Bakayoko has left Chelsea a bit inadequate in the creative department, which is why the Blues were looking for Ross Barkley.
Jack Wilshere is someone who is blessed with superb technical abilities and brilliant creativity who can spark up the midfield with his lovely passing and terrific moments. Players like Cesc Fabregas and Willian haven’t really stepped up to the plate this season, and Wilshere can prove to be an answer in the offensive department for defending champions.
