Tottenham Hotspur’s Wembley hoodoo came back to haunt them as their hopes of making it to the last eight of the Carabao Cup came crashing down at the hand of West Ham United.
Trailing 2-0 at the break, the Hammers launched a spirited comeback in the second half as in a span of 15 minutes the whole game changed but in the favour of the away side.
Andre Ayew started the fight back. Tottenham Hotspur keeper Michael Vorm couldn’t collect Edmilson Fernandes’ drive properly and Ayew latched it on the rebound to start the turnaround.
The Ghanaian international then scored the second of his night from a Manuel Lanzini cross to level terms at the Wembley Stadium. Angelo Ogbonna scored the winner in this crucial match which could well set the tone for the remaining of the season.

One of the poorest performers for the Hammers on the pitch.
