Arsenal registered an emphatic 2-5 win away at the Goodison Park earlier today in what was a riveting game for the North London outfit. The Gunners, when they click, become a fearsome side and the Toffees looked timorous as Arsene Wenger’s men took complete control over the game for the major part of it.
Here are our Arsenal players’ ratings from their victory in the game week nine of the Premier League:
Petr Cech 5/10
For the custodian, it certainly wasn’t a great day at the office as he was deceived by Wayne Rooney at first and was guilty in conceding the second after a horrible mix-up.
Laurent Koscielny 7/10
Koscielny received a yellow card for his horrible tackle and many would hold the view that he deserved to see a red card. Nonetheless, he did his basics right and did maraud forward quite often.
Per Mertesacker 6.5/10
The big German should have done better to prevent Rooney from scoring. Otherwise, he had a great game and was very dominant in the air.
Nacho Monreal 8/10
Took time to settle but once he did, he was absolutely fantastic. The Spaniard scored the equalizer and kept toiling relentlessly throughout the pitch.
Sead Kolasinac 7/10
The summer signing was reliable once again as he showcased his physical dominance, was consistent, went forward pretty often and was very good on the ball.
Hector Bellerin 6.5/10
Bellerin dribbled well and was quit sharp whilst marauding forward, although some of his defensive decisions were questionable.
Granit Xhaka 7/10
A determined player in the middle of the park, the Swiss international looked to win possession for his employers and as usual, his passes were absolutely top notch. He added steel to Arsenal’s midfield.
Aaron Ramsey 8/10
The Welshman was the engine who kept making forward runs and he dictated the tempo of the game. Ramsey bagged a goal and an assist and was absolutely scintillating to watch.
Mesut Ozil 9/10
Being bashed left right and centre of late, the ‘lazy’ German created as many as eight chances, scored a wonderful goal off his head and also manoeuvred a perfect assist. Wasn’t this the perfect way to answer the criticisms?
Alexis Sanchez 8.5/10
Alexis was a workhorse throughout the game as he kept linking up in an astute manner time and again with his teammates. His goal was a masterstroke!
Alexandre Lacazette 8/10
The Frenchman teed up well with Alexis and Ozil and offered his predatory instincts. It was good to see him bagging a well deserved goal.
Substitutions:
Jack Wilshere 7/10
Wilshere replaced Lacazette and he after coming on, he showed calibre and class by knitting the side together with his passes and vision.
Francis Coquelin 6/10
The Frenchman was brought on for Ozil and he shielded the backline pretty well.
