Ben Foster (5) – made a couple mistakes with Solly March’s shot and kicking has been dreadful. He was also at fault for the second and third goals as he would have hoped to get down quickly to keep them out.
Johnny Evans (6)– Had a very tough return the side although he made some good clearances throughout the game but has been hassled well by The Seagulls front three.
Alan Nyom,6– Had a tough game against Knockaert in the first half and then down the other side against Solly March. He seems got up and down the wing well though.
Ahmed Hegazi,6– The centre half had a tough afternoon despite making some good clearances but was hassled well by the Brighton front three and was substituted early in the second half.
Craig Dawson,5- Not the easiest afternoon for the full back he struggled to deal with Solly March’s pace and then in the second half was moved into the centre back and was beaten in the air by Tomer Hemed to the ball for the third goal.
Jake Livermore,6- The English midfielder made a couple of nice passes but struggled to break down a stubborn Albion defence.
Gareth Barry,7- The ex Brighton midfielder did a great job get involved in the midfield well and was denied a goal by a fabulous save from Matthew Ryan.
Grzegorz Krychowiak, 6– The Polish midfielder was very strong and hard to knock off the ball but he had a couple of mistakes by spending too much time on the ball, not the easiest of starts for the deadline day loanee.
Matt Phillips, 6– a very quiet game for the Scottish winger, he got past Markus Suttner once but really struggled to get into the game really.
Solomon Rondon,4 – Not the greatest game for the striker he could do very little against a solid Brighton back four all afternoon and was then substituted in the second half to bring his game to an early end.
Jay Rodriguez,4 – The striker looked frustrated in both half as struggled to have any chances against Bruno on the left wing in the first half and against Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk in the second half when he moved into a lone striker role. He had one chance late on that he took long on and was tackled by Suttner.
Kieran Gibbs, 6– Made his debut coming on as a second half substitute made a couple of promising runs down the left side but not the easiest game to come into.
Oliver Burke,5- Came on at the same time as Gibbs but struggled to get into the game due to good defending from March and Suttner.
James Morrison,6 – Found a pocket of space to score a consolation goal but did not do much else.
