Everton left no stone un-turned in the transfer market this summer with the owner, Farhad Moshiri pushing in excessive funds which allowed the Merseyside club to purchase a good blend of experienced and youth players. Davy Klaassen, Wayne Rooney, Sandro Ramirez, Jordan Pickford, Sigurdsson and Michael Keane are in the notable list of new arrivals at Goodison Park.
The team has played three matches so far in the Premier League and have begun their campaign on a mixed note, having won one, lost one and drawn one of their encounters. While the loss came against the reigning champions Chelsea and the draw against former Premier League champions Manchester City, the only win came against Stoke City in their very first match of the season, courtesy a thumping header from the former Manchester United and English legend Wayne Rooney.
The Toffees have also qualified to play in the Europa League, having won against Ruzemberok and Hajduk Split in their qualifying matches after they finished 7th last season.
However, they will be without their talismanic striker Romelu Lukaku, who joined Manchester United in the summer. The Belgian marksman was in gallant form during the course of last season and bagged 25 goals to show for his efforts in the Premier League, losing out to the top scorer Harry Kane, who ended with 29 goals to his name.
However, the Toffees have managed to bring in players like Sandro Ramirez from Spanish outfit Malaga, who scored 14 goals for them in the last term as well as former English international Wayne Rooney. The duo have been playing well since they have joined the Merseyside club and Rooney has already scored two goals for his childhood club, which he left 13 years ago to join Manchester United.
With a number of new players in their team in the current situation, the Toffees are looking to achieve something substantial this term in the Premier League as well as Europa League, which they could not in the last term due to the unavailability of quality players. Among the new signings, all of them are yet to feature for the team in the new season, but if they do it together, then the team might look something like this-
Pickford/Stekelenburg, Keane, Williams, Jagielka, Martina, Sigurdsson, Gueye, Schneiderlin, Klaassen/Vlasic, Calvert-Lewin/Ramirez, Rooney.
