Liverpool are looking forward to getting their season back on track after the mixed start to the campaign with two draws, three wins and one thumping loss at the hands of close rivals Manchester City. The Reds have been looking good in the attack but have not done enough to build a solid defence and it is showing in their recent results.
A staunch believer of tremendous attacking football, the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is very much proud of the attacking lineup of his side and is looking forward to enhancing their “gegenpressing” style of football in the forthcoming matches this season.
However, that plan might take a hit in case the Reds will have to let go of their talismanic attacker Philippe Coutinho in the winter transfer window that commences in January next year.
Coutinho has undoubtedly been one of their most influential players for the Merseyside club since his arrival in 2013, leading them to a number of memorable triumphs in the last few seasons. However, there have been speculations that the player is willing to force a move out of Anfield in order to join one of the biggest clubs in European as well as Spanish football in Barcelona.
The Blaugrana tried their level best to get the player on their side for the new season during this summer transfer window after the departure of one of their most important players in the form of the Brazilain superstar Neymar, who went on to join the French giants Paris Saint Germain for a world record transfer fee.
The former Spanish champions are on the prowl to pounce on an opportunity to get the Liverpool attacker in their team and have already laid down a series of bids only to find them getting rejected by the Merseyside club.
However, their wish might finally come true in the next transfer window that commences in January next year, with a hint that the Reds might finally agree to a deal to sell their talismanic attacker to the Catalan side. Though it is going to be quite tough for the Reds to cope for the rest of the season without one of their main forwards, they have enough fire-power in their arsenal to help their side to a decent finish in the season.
Coutinho stands as one of the most influential players for Liverpool at the moment and his loss will not be easy to mend but with the player looking to force his way out, it might be best for the Reds to let him leave. But do you think they should sell him in the middle of the season?
