Everton have been completely out of sorts in the Premier League so far this season, having started in the worst possible way to falling to three losses in their first six matches. However, they are looking to recover from this current condition and are looking for inspiring performances to drive them home in the forthcoming matches for the rest of the season.
One of the biggest reasons for their failure so far has been the inability to score goals on a regular basis. The Toffees have only scored four goals this season, two of which came in their last match when Oumar Niasse scored a brace to hand his side only their second win of the season.
The man in charge at Goodison Park, Ronald Koeman, had to let go of the star striker for his side, Romelu Lukaku in the summer who joined Manchester United. The Belgian scored a total of 26 goals in the last term and stood as the second highest scorer in the Premier League, making it one of the best seasons for his side, when they finished in the seventh position in the league table.
It has been a completely different picture for the Toffees after his departure from the club as their new strikers Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez have failed to make an impact in the new season so far. Koeman is looking worried and might look to bring in a new striker into the side in the January transfer window.
Reportedly, the Dutchman in eyeing one of the best forwards in European football in the present scenario in the form of Edinson Cavani, who is currently playing for the French giants Paris Saint Germain. He has been the spearhead of the attack for the former French Ligue 1 champions over the last few seasons.
However, the arrival of the Brazilian superstar Neymar into the side in the summer transfer window on a world record fee has changed that equation to a great extent, with tension growing between the two players that has been evident from certain activities on the field as well.
With the situation getting worse by the day at his present club, there is a chance that the Uruguayan star might look to make a move out of the side in the next transfer window and Everton are ready to pounce on the opportunity to bag the player for the rest of the season. However, the player might cost them a fortune, which might be a detriment for the Toffees to bring their desired player into the side in January. So can Koeman land Cavani?
