With the pressure mounting on Ronald Koeman, the Dutchman took his team to Old Trafford knowing that Jose Mourinho had not defeated him in five matches before this. However, he couldn’t extend the streak as Manchester United trampled Everton completely and inflicted a fourth consecutive defeat. Here is how Everton have been rated.
Jordan Pickford – 5/10
Had a torrid time in the net as he conceded four. He couldn’t have done anything against any of the goals sadly.
Cuco Martina – 6/10
Lucky to have escaped a booking after repeated fouls but attacking wise he looked intent on doing something and ran a lot on the wing.
Michael Keane – 5/10
Looked slow and indecisive. Escaped without conceding after a passing error.
Ashley Williams – 5/10
Physically squared well against Lukaku but looked vulnerable as well on occasions.
Phil Jagielka – 6/10
Countered the dangerous Mata or Valencia well from his side however it was a sad day for the entire defence.
Leighton Baines – 3.5/10
Hardly noticeable and largely ineffective or unproductive while going forward.
Morgan Schneiderlin – 4.5/10
It was a day where Morgan had to put in a lot of work. He intercepted or tackled fairly sometimes but gave away the ball too.
Idrissa Gana Gueye – 3/10
Silent and useless to United’s presence and command in the central region.
Tom Davies – 4/10
Tried hard but couldn’t make it work as United were quick to snuff out the danger and retain the ball.
Gylfi Sigurdsson – 3.5/10
Again, not a game where he was noticeable enough or did anything except for getting a shot on De Gea.
Wayne Rooney – 7/10
He was one of the few who kept trying hard till his final moments and on his day if not for De Gea, he could have had a hat trick too maybe. He looked sharp and sensible on the pitch.
Substitutes
Sandro Ramirez – 5/10
Tried a little with his movement and got a shot at De Gea for which the Spaniard reacted well.
Calvert Lewin – 3/10
Came on late and was kept in check by Jones fully.
Kevin Mirallas – 3/10
It was too late for him to make any difference to the scoreline.
