Liverpool are looking forward to have a good outing in this term just like they did in the last season. However, their intent has failed to give the desired results so far, as the Reds were knocked out of the Carabao Cup last Tuesday to add to the problems they are currently having in their Premier League campaign.
Klopp’s men have been playing with great attacking intent from the word go and are not looking to change their perspective anytime soon. The man in charge at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp is looking to utilise his forwards in the best possible way and despite having some of the best attackers in his team in the form of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Phillipe Coutinho, he is looking to add more firepower to his side in the January transfer window.
The wily German is speculated to have his eyes on his national compatriot Julian Draxler, who is currently playing for the French giants Paris Saint Germain. The player is one of the most highly regarded forwards in Europe in the recent times and has attracted the eyes of a number of big-name clubs from the Premier League including the likes of Liverpool and their arch-rivals Liverpool.
The 24-year-old was brought in the Ligue 1 outfit to add to the firepower of the side during the last January transfer window. Since then, he has a played a very important in the team, contributing with brilliant pace, prowess and goalscoring abilities.
However, the German attacker might look to end his stay with the former French champions after being pushed down the pecking order to make a place for their new signing, the Brazilian sensation Neymar and the French youngster Kylian Mbappe.
The forward has made 30 appearances so far for the French club and has 10 goals to show for his efforts on the pitch. He has also chipped in with four assists so as to provide his teammates with opportunities to score goals.
With the arrival of Neymar and Mbappe in the Paris Saint Germain lineup, chances look very gloomy for the 24-year-old to get a place in the first eleven, which has made him extremely disappointed and might compel him to get out of the Parc De Prices in the next transfer window.
Liverpool are looking to strengthen their side for the new season, especially add to their firepower and Draxler can be the perfect player to fit the bill for the Reds. But do they really need him?
