Chelsea have been looking to make a number of their fans very happy with their current performance after starting their season in horrific fashion, having lost to Burnley by 3-2. The reigning Premier League champions have made their intentions clear since then and have registered four wins out of their six matches so far, the last one coming against Stoke City by 4-0.
The Blues looked for a new striker in the summer transfer window as they were set to part ways with their top scorer from the last term Diego Costa due to some problems with the team management (cough, Antonio Conte, cough!). However, they managed to sign one of his national team colleagues in the form of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, who was used in more of a bits and pieces role at Santiago Bernabeu.
The 24-year-old looked to immediately fit into the life at his new club and started scoring for them from the word go. He has made seven appearances so far this season and has scored six goals already for them in all competitions, with a hattrick in the last match against the Potters, which was top notch and gave his team the much-needed impetus in the present season.
With the likes of Sergio Aguero and Romelu Lukaku present with him at the top of the leaderboard, Morata will have to fight harder than ever in his very first season in the Premier League and make a statement as one of the finest players in all over Europe. By the look of things, it seems that he has already started to show that to his critics and is fast turning out to be the best signing of this season for the West London club.
The Spaniard has a very impressive track record to go with him, with 31 and 27 goals in 95 and 93 games for two of the biggest clubs in Europe in the form of Real Madrid and the Italian champions Juventus.
However, it is a still a very long road ahead of him in one of the most intriguing leagues in all of Europe and Morata is aware of the fact that he will have to work much harder to prove his worth in the Premier League. It has been a good season for him till now and the Spanish marksman will hope that it only gets better with time.
He has been Chelsea’s saviour a number of times already but do you think he is the best signing of the summer?
