Chelsea are looking strong in their approach this season, whether it is in the Premier League or in the Champions League. The Blues have already clinched four wins in the last five matches so far in the Premier League and have started their title defence in style.
They have also embarked on a comeback journey in the Champions League this season, making a grand start with a 6-0 win over Qarabag in their very first match of the term.
The man in charge at Stamford Bridge, Antonio Conte, spent well this summer to add to the strength of his side and brought in a number of top-class players into the club. However, he has been wary of the strike power of his side and is willing to add another experienced striker, who has proved himself as one of the best in Europe over the last few years.
Reportedly, the wily Italian has his eyes on the Poland international Robert Lewandowski, who is presently playing for the German giants Bayern Munich. He has been a part of the side since his arrival at the Allianz Arena in 2014 and has been the star of the show for the Bavarians in a number of matches, both in the domestic as well as in the European competitions.
However, it seems that there has been some kind of trouble between the club and the player of late, which has compelled Lewandowski to take a decision about leaving the club as soon as possible. The player has been critical about the club’s approach towards bringing in new players to the side over the last few seasons and has been vocal about his displeasure regarding the matter.
This has irked a number of big name clubs, who want to get hold of the mercurial marksman for the next season including outfits from all over Europe such as Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United.
Speculations are rife that the player himself might prefer a move to the Spanish capital in the next season but the current Premier League champions are looking to gazump the Spanish La Liga champions with a substantial bid for the 29-year-old forward to land him at Stamford Bridge in the next summer.
The Poland international is one of the most successful players in the Bundesliga for the Bavarians, having scored 119 goals for them in 154 games so far. It goes without saying that the player will be a great addition to the Chelsea side and will give their attack more teeth, given they are able to secure his signature next summer.
