Burnley have started their season in the Premier League in the best way possible, having beaten the reigning Premier League champions Chelsea in their very first match of the campaign by 3-2. However, they faced their first defeat in a hard fought battle against West Bromwich in their very next match by 1-0 but fought against another biggie of the Premier League in the form of the Tottenham Hotspur, with their new recruit Chris Wood coming off the bench to score the equalizer right before the final whistle.
The Clarets lost their striker Andre Grey during the summer to fellow Premier League rivals Watford but were able to secure the services of New Zealand ace Wood from Championship club Leeds United. However, they are looking to add more players to the squad and bring in another forward in the form of Nicolas Castillo from Mexican club Pumas.
The 24-year-old striker has been one of the most talked about players currently Mexican football, with his pace and prowess making it possible for him to make a lasting impression. He has been one of the mainstays in the attack for his current club and has attracted a number of eyes so far in South American as well as European football.
Burnley have already tried their hands at signing the player during the recently concluded summer transfer window only to face failure. However, they are not bogged down so easily and are willing to make a bid for him in the next transfer window.
The Chilean ace is known for his brilliant runs down the flanks and into the heart of the opposition defence, making it difficult for the defenders to assess his pace and trickery. He is also known for his shot making ability which enables him to score from both from distance as well as close range, thus giving an advantage to the team he plays for.
The Clarets are looking for a player who can help them as the main striker and can also play as a shadow striker to make it easier for the manager to choose in the squad. He also has versatility in shot making, with the ability to curl free kicks into the back of the net as well as running with the ball and taking a shot on goal to score for his side.
Although the player might consider a move to the Premier League club in January, it is also subject to the Mexican club’s willingness to let go of their prized possession. So should Burnley go all in for him?
