Arsenal kept themselves pretty busy in this summer transfer window but their transfer activity remained very confined as apart from Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette no player arrived at the Emirates.
After finishing outside of the top five in the Premier League table for the first time in the last 22 years, everyone would have thought this transfer window would break all the previous records but to the contrary, it was one of that silent summer for the Gunners.
According to reports, Arsenal have stepped up their interest in Fulham wonder kid Matt O’Riley. The 16-year-old has been attracting interest from around the globe and has set the stage on fire. Following his brilliant performances for the Fulham youth side, the teenager has been called up to the senior squad and has already started two games in the Carabao Cup.
Fulham have a number of young talented players with Ryan Sessegnon being one of them. The left-back has also been touted as the future of the Three Lions and has been courted by a number of clubs.
He is also in the England U-17s squad and is all set to appear in the U-17 World Cup in the next month in India. Primarily a central midfielder the teenager loves to take part in the creative things. In this tender age, his technique and ball control are quite brilliant and although it is too early to say he could be a real gem in the future.
Fulham coach has showered his praises on the player. I expect he can be an important player for our club in the future.”
Arsenal have been on the lookout for a talented prospect for their youth team and the 16-year-old could be that unearthed talent. Manchester City have also joined the Gunners in the chase of the player. They recently lost Jaden Sancho to Borussia Dortmund and are looking to fill his void.
Riley is quite versatile and commands on a number of positions in the midfield. Ideally, he is best suited in the central midfield role but he can also operate from the deep and in a further advanced position.
So he ticks all the boxes what a complete midfielder should have and the Gunners want to rope in the youngster as soon as possible. Arsenal too lost a number of academy graduates in this summer and would be looking forward to bring in some exciting talents.
