Liverpool are looking in devastating form in the Premier League this season so far, having displayed brilliant attacking mentality in the campaign. The Reds have won their last two matches in the competition out of the three matches they have played, which came against Crystal Placae and Arsenal, the last one being a 4-0 demolition of the Gunners at Anfield.
The Merseysiders will be facing another tough opponent in their next match in the Premier League in the form of Manchester City, as the action resumes this weekend after the international break. It is undoubtedly going to be a clash of the giants, as the clubs will be looking to bag three points from the match to get an early advantage in the tournament.
Liverpool are expected to go in with their full force, as they have got no significant injuries to worry about. However, the chance of their talismanic player Phillipe Coutinho might be in doldrums after the turmoil surrounding his willingness to join the Spanish giants Barcelona, which was totally shunned by the Reds, rejecting a series of bids from the former La Liga champions.
Here is the predicted lineup Klopp might field for this tie:
Defence-
The man in charge at Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp, has been able to build a lineup with players who have shown how to guard the back line perfectly and have not let a single player get through them and score goals against the Merseyside club in the last two matches.
Though Manchester City has enough firepower to put a few in the back of their opponent’s net, the Liverpool defence comprising of Joseph Gomez, Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Alberto Moreno, will look to take them head on and come out on top in this match.
The Reds might once again start with goal keeper Loris Karius, after he kept a clean sheet, replacing the first choice custodian Simon Mignolet, like in their last match against Arsenal.
Midfield-
The Liverpool midfield has been playing really well since the start of the season, supporting the attackers as well as the backline well and keeping possession of the ball as much as possible. Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum both have looked good and have come out with flying colours in their role in the heart of the midfield and have been well supported by Emre Can.
Attack-
The Reds have undoubtedly got one of the best attacks in the Premier League this season and have been running riot in the opposition half. With all their forwards including the likes of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge among goals, Liverpool will look for another win against the Citizens as well.
Predicted Lineup-
Karius, Gomez, Matip, Lovren, Moreno, Can, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Mane.
