Championship outfit Hull City have had a mixed start to their new season as they have collected 7 points from their first 5 league outings. Despite signing some quality players like Nouha Dicko, Jon Toral and Kevin Stewart, they can still add more depth to their squad by signing one or two free agents and here are three such players:
Rickie Lambert
In order to enhance the striking department, one of the players whom Hull City should attempt to lure to the KCOM Stadium is Rickie Lambert. Lambert is a player who is well accustomed to English football and has the technical and tactical edge to ply his trade for a decently respected side.
Having emerged through the youth ranks of Liverpool, the Englishman plied his trade for a lot of clubs including Bristol Rovers, Stockport County and Rochdale, before making a move to St. Mary’s.
During his tenure with Southampton, Lambert became a household name owing to his attacking prowess but his subsequent moves to Liverpool, West Bromwich Albion and Cardiff City proved to be disastrous and was released by the Bluebirds during the summer transfer window and is currently a free agent.
Joe Ledley
Wales international Joe Ledley was released by Crystal Palace recently and he is in the hunt of a new endeavour. He accumulated truckloads of experience whilst plying his trade for Cardiff City, Celtic and the Eagles and it is strange to see that no club has made him sign on the dotted line.
Ledley is a player of fine calibre as the midfielder provides himself as an essential commodity for his side in the middle of the park. He toils relentlessly, keeps things neat and tidy in the middle and knits the team together meticulously.
Although the veteran might be looking forward to playing in the Premier League, a move to Leonid Slutsky’s outfit would not be a bad move despite the fact that they operate in the Championship and he can really help them in pushing for the uplift.
Chico Flores
In order to strengthen their backline, Hull City can sign ex-Swansea City defender Chico Flores. Flores is an unattached player after his contract with the Qatari outfit Lekhwiya expired.
The defender does have some years of competitive football still left in him and he would unarguably be an astute signing. He is a shrewd defender who reads the attacking endeavours of the opposition pretty well and could really render a helping hand to Slutsky this season.
