Huddersfield Town earned a promotion to the Premier League after their productive 2016-17 season and have started their season in the English top division in a scintillating manner. The Terriers have already bagged 7 points from their first 3 league games and have indeed looked like a side capable of maintaining their status of being an elite club.
Although they made galvanizing signings like Steve Mounie, Aaron Mooy and Tom Ince during the summer transfer window, they can make a move to sign players who are without any club, i.e., free agents. Here are three players whom David Wagner should vouch to beef up his arsenal.
Sebastien Bassong
Versatile defender Sebastien Bassong was one of the players who was shown the exit route to the Carrow Road during the mass exodus which Norwich City pencilled a few months ago. He was one of the seven players who were released and at this stroke of the hour, he is bereft of any club.
Bassong has accumulated plenty of experience under his belt over the course of his career, having played for Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Watford and not to mention, for the Canaries.
The 31-year-old is a player with a daunting figure and is quite athletic, but it is his lack of consistency that has dented his credentials and maybe a manager with patience might help him in redeeming his potential.
Joe Ledley
It is still a surprise to see Joe Ledley being unattached, for he is still a player of fine calibre who is desirous of plying his trade in the Premier League. Wagner’s outfit should pounce upon the opportunity and lure him to John Smith’s Stadium as soon as possible.
The Welsh international is someone who has truckloads of experience under his belt and his entry into the ranks of Wagner has the potential to enhance their quality. The midfielder toils relentlessly and operates with exceptional tactical and technical edge and still has the calibre of playing for a top quality side
Giuseppe Rossi
A forward with quickness and mobility, Giuseppe Rossi is an excellent forward and is renowned for his offensive prowess. His work-rate and movements with and without the ball is exceptional, so is his passing range and vision.
The former Italian international is currently out of contract, with his latest endeavour being his loan spell with Celta Vigo last season and if Wagner is looking for a proven attacker, he must keep Rossi in his sight.
