It has been riveting to see Wolverhampton Wanderers having a solid start to their campaign in the English second division this season, as they have cultivated 10 points from their first 5 league outings. On paper, they do look like a side which should mount a serious challenge for bagging a place inside the top six. The Wolves have looked a lot more composed and willing this season and the continuation of the same would hold paramount importance.
The summer transfer window has been fairly productive for them as under the tutelage of Nuno Espirito Santo, they have lured some quality names to Molineux Stadium. The likes of Ruben Neves, Roderick Miranda, Ryan Bennett and Barry Douglas are a few names to substantiate such a claim and it goes without saying that Espirito Santo has done his bit of bolstering his squad for a very challenging journey up ahead.
They have invested their cash on beefing up the sectors which needed to be addressed and have pencilled some really shrewd loan deals as well. However, it is perceived that the Wolves would make some notable signings in the final hours of the transfer window to cater to their needs. As per one of the latest report by Birmingham Mail, Wolves are keen to sign Benik Afobe but have seen their bid of £15million getting rejected by Premier League outfit Bournemouth. However, it seems Wolves are considering putting in one last bid for the striker.

Afobe emerged through the youth ranks of Arsenal and despite the fact that he failed to cement a place for himself in the tactical nous of Arsene Wenger at the North London based outfit, he accumulated plenty of experience during his loan spells with clubs like Reading, Sheffield Wednesday, MK Dons and Bolton Wanderers. He is well accustomed to English football and is a decent striker to be available with any Championship side.
He made a move to the Vitality Stadium during the summer transfer window of 2016 after impressing during his spell with the Wanderers. The 24-year-old was handed 31 appearances by the Cherries last term whilst which he banged 6 goals and created 24 chances. Espirito Santo has already struck Nouha Dicko and Joe Mason from his books and thus, they should really try to pounce upon Afobe.
The Congolese international is a fine attacker who toils relentlessly in the final third to make something happen for his employers. He possesses exceptional predatory skills and his physique enables him to have the aerial advantage as well. Besides, he has the requisite pace in his boots and links up well with his teammates and without any shadow of doubt, Wolves should leave no stone unturned to sign him to bolster their chances of promotion.
