West Ham United were far from making it one of the memorable performances of the new season first up, as they went down in one of the most disappointing ways in their matchup against Manchester United last weekend, losing it by an embarrassing margin of 4-0.
The current man in charge at the London Stadium, Slaven Bilic, tried to put together one of the strongest attacks of the season as he spent in the transfer window to bring in two of the finest attackers in modern day football in the form of Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic to strengthen his front line. However, in the present situation it seems that the Croatian needs to work some more on developing his team’s offence by bringing in some more players, who have been playing well in the last season for their respective clubs and can help them to get some positive results under their belt in the forthcoming days of the season.
One such player, who has been targeted by the Hammers boss, is the French striker Moussa Dembele, who is the mainstay in the attack for the Scottish champions Celtic. The player has been in tremendous form since joining the Scottish Premiership club at the start of the last term from the Championship side Fulham and is in demand from a number of big name clubs from the Premier League as well as other European outfits.
However, it will be quite unlikely that the Hoops will let go off their prized possession in the summer, as they are well aware of his worth in the current situation and would like to capitalise on his gallant form and keep hold of the Scottish Premiership in the new season as well. Their coach, Brendan Rodgers is well aware of the challenges they will be facing in the Champions League in the forthcoming days this term and will need to hold onto their star striker so as to get an upper hand over their opponents.
West Ham United have failed to score a single goal in their first match, and their attack looked as clueless as their defence in front of one of the best teams in the Premier League this season. However, Bilic will have to ensure that he has enough firepower at his disposal to topple their opponents and meet the targets set by the club in this make or break season for him.
