According to reports, West Bromwich Albion might launch an offer for Leicester City forward Ahmed Musa. Tony Pulis has been looking for options in the attacking department and Musa’s availability has triggered an interest. Leicester recently completed the signing of Kelechi Iheanacho which means Musa would now be the fifth choice forward in the current scenario behind Leonardo Ulloa and Shinji Okazaki.
The Foxes are ready to make some fast earned money but the Baggies are very keen to take the player on loan with an option for a permanent switch. Fenerbahce has already tested Foxes’ patience with a £16m offer but the forward wants to stay in the Premier League and has decided to have another shot.
The Foxes flirted with the relegation most of the last season and a change in the managerial positions saw them finish in a respectable position. Since Craig Shakespeare has been handed the reign at the King Power Stadium there was a drastic change in form which ultimately helped them revive their fortunes.
Pulis had a very tough time when it came to choosing his front man as none of his forward were able to find the back of the net on a consistent basis. Both Salomon Rondon and Hal Robson-Kanu had a very quiet campaign.
West Brom’s strongest point was defence throughout the season but Pulis has voiced his concerns about the inability of his strikers to score goals. The gaffer acquired the services of Jay Rodriguez from Southampton but with clouds hovering over Rondon’s future he doesn’t want to take any chance.
Musa started only seven games in the Premier League last season and found the net only two times. The forward can also be very effective on the wings and will give Pulis more options to ponder with.
Musa is also desperate to have some regular game time too and he won’t have any problem leaving the King Power. His agent has already defined that there is certain interest from a number of clubs and the Baggies are one of them. “The interest from Turkey is very strong but he wants to remain in England.
“West Brom and Brighton are among the clubs to have sounded him out over a potential move,” said his agent, recently.
The arrival of Iheanacho will refrain him further and this is the best chance for Pulis to hijack a move. Leicester won’t demand much for his services so the Baggies should seal this in the upcoming days.
