Tottenham Hotspur have done a fine job this summer, having kept hold of all their key players from the last term, who played a key role in their advent to the second spot in the Premier League table. The only player who parted ways with them in the summer transfer market is their dependable right back Kyle Walker, who went on to join the Premier League side Manchester City for £45 million.
However, Tottenham has been receiving offers for a number of players in their side since the start of the transfer window including the English international Eric Dier, who is linked with a number of big name clubs from England as well as Europe. The versatile player, who is known his defensive skills, has been one of the most in-demand players in the current summer transfer window.
Having attracted interest from Tottenham’s arch rivals Manchester United, the youngster is now linked with the German champions Bayern Munich, who are looking much more inclined towards getting the deal done to fill up the void left in their midfield by the departure of Spanish midfielder Xavi Alonso at the end of the last term.
The 23-year-old has been one of the mainstays in the midfield for the Spurs in the last few seasons since his arrival from Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon in 2014
The English international has already played 135 matches for the North London club and has established his place in the side as a catalyst to stabilise the midfield with his timely tackles and ability to keep possession of the ball for a considerable amount of time.
The Red Devils have been eyeing the player for quite a long time, but have cooled their interest in him after the signing of the Serbian enforcer Nemanja Matic from Chelsea. Now, the Bavarians are on their way to test the resolve of Tottenham, as they prepare a bid of £50m, for the English international to join them for the new season.
It is very much unlikely for Tottenham to let go of Dier, as they are well aware of how indispensable he is to the side. The Spurs will be facing some of the biggest clubs in the Champions League in the new term and are very much dependant on the English enforcer to hold their midfield together and fend off the opposition players with his brilliant skills.
His pin point passes and crosses also come handy for his teammates, creating opportunities for them to score. So do you think Dier will leave the Premier League this summer?
