Tottenham Hotspur have started their pursuit to glory for the new season after completing a good last season right on the brink of winning the Premier League, which could not happen due to some late glitches. However, the Spurs are looking forward to making this season the best one by far and make amends for the mistakes from the last season.
The North London club has been wary of their defensive problems, especially the lack of quality players in full back positions. They are eyeing a number of players in the ongoing summer transfer window and are looking forward to stabilising their defence for the new season, which has already commenced.
Danny Rose, the present first choice left back of Tottenham, has been fighting to get match fit through a good part of the last term and will be missing matches for the start of the season due to the prolonged injury worries. However, there have also been rumours that the English international has been linked with a move to Manchester United, which has made it even more important for the Spurs to get a quality left back in their squad for the new season.
Among the players who have been shortlisted by the Spurs team management to be brought into the team, one name, which is right on the top of the list is that of the Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon, who has been nothing less than a sensation in recent times. With his gallant performances throughout the last season in the Championship, the English whiz kid has attracted the attention of a number of experts and coaches that include the name of the Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine gaffer has been fond of youngsters and is always relying on their pace and prowess to strengthen his team throughout his managerial career so far. With a number of youngsters like Dele Alli and Eric Dier making it big under his tutelage to become stars for the English national team, Sessegnon might make the right choice if he looks to make a move to the North London club in the summer.
However, Fulham, who are also looking to make it back into the Premier League and will need all their resources to fire in the new season, might not be interested to let go of their prized possession in the summer. In fact, they don’t yet have a viable replacement who can stand in for the 17-year-old to stabilise the backline in the new season.
