Tottenham Hotspur have been at their best in the last term, making it one of their best in the last few years and finishing right on the verge of winning the Premier League, but for some late goof-ups that stopped them at the second position in the league table.
Though Tottenham have not brought in any new players so far this summer, it might be possible for them to bag a few in the forthcoming days so as to make the line-up ready for a tough season in both the Premier League as well as the Champions League in the next term.
The Argentine mastermind, who is currently in charge of the Spurs, Mauricio Pochettino, is looking for an able goalkeeper who can give competition to the current custodian and the skipper of the team Hugo Lloris in the next season. Reportedly, he has got his eyes on his compatriot keeper Paolo Gazzaniga, who is currently playing for the Premier League side Southampton.
The Argentine player has been one of the players who have played under the tutelage of Pochettino at the South Coast club during his tenure in the 2013-14 season. The current Tottenham coach was much impressed with his performances and had his eyes on him, with an intent to bring him into his current club for the next term.
Reportedly, the North London club are looking to make a bid of £2 million for the player to be brought into the club for the next season. It goes without saying that the shot-stopper will be a good addition to the club and hope for a bright future in the reunion that will see him playing under Mauricio Pochettino for the second time in his career.
The 25-year-old Argentine is known for his ball handling capability and his cool head that he has shown throughout his career. He was sent on loan to the Spanish outlet Rayo Vallecano in the last term and had a fairly good season there, featuring in 34 matches throughout the season. He has played 23 matches so far in his career for the Saints as well but has been restricted more often to the bench, making it disappointing for the player, who is looking for a club where he can develop as a player under the guidance of a world class manager.
However, the player might not be featuring too many times in the next season for the Spurs, in case he leaves Southampton in the summer, with Tottenham already having a dependable goalkeeper like Hugo Lloris at their helm.
