Tottenham Hotspur have lost one of the mainstays in defence, Kyle Walker, who has been a part of the club for a number of years and played a very crucial role in the backline to keep the opposition players at bay. The English right back joined Manchester City in a £45 million transfer deal in the summer, leaving a big void in the defence of Tottenham Hotspur for the next season.
Though they already have an able player like Kieran Trippier at their disposal, the North London club are now in pursuit of a player who can be the perfect replacement for the English right back in the forthcoming days, who can play a very important role in the team as a defender as well as help in initiating counter attacks on the opposition goal.
Reportedly, Spurs are looking forward to bringing in the German right back, Benjamin Henrichs, from his current club Bayer Leverkusen, playing in the Bundesliga top tier. The 20-year-old is considered to be one of the most highly rated players in the current context in the Bundesliga as well as Europe and has attracted the interests of a number of big name clubs from all over Europe including Tottenham Hotspur.
The German youngster has risen through the ranks at his current club and has become one of the most reliable players for Leverkusen in the last few years. He has made 47 appearances for the German outfit so far and has proved his mettle as a full back, safeguarding the defence as well as getting involved in delivering crucial passes and crosses into the attacking third to help his teammates score goals.
Tottenham Hotspur have been eyeing the youngster, monitoring his progress for quite a long time and is reportedly preparing a bid to bring in him into the club for the next term.
