Jurgen Klopp has been a busy man this summer as he is desperate to make sure that he can improve on the season his Liverpool side played out recently. They managed to finish in the fourth place in the points table and qualified for the Champions League but there is still a lot of work to do on the squad at Anfield.
The German manager has added the likes of Dominic Solanke, Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson for the next season but Liverpool are still to decide on their starting XI, still searching for potential transfers. But they do have quite a few players who might have stellar campaigns with the club next season and here are three such players, who are ready to surprise the fans:
Joe Gomez:
The English defender spent most of the last two years on the sideline with injuries but is finally back to full fitness, showing Klopp what he is capable of, in the pre-season so far. Gomez is a versatile player who played as a centre back for the Reds in the domestic cup last season but he has also excelled as a full-back recently and his versatility across the back line, added to his technical ability with the ball, make him a super option for Klopp. He was initially expected to be sent out on loan but he might just stay back and have a surprisingly good season this year.
Danny Ings:
The English striker has also spent the last two seasons mostly on the physician’s table and unlike Gomez, he is still not back to full fitness. But he is a hard worker and is expected to be back before the start of the season, which will give Klopp another option in attack. He is tailor made for Klopp’s style of play and the German manager will surely love his attitude on and off the field. If given chances, he can be devastating and surely, if fit, he has the chance to turn into the biggest surprise for Liverpool this season.
Roberto Firmino:
The Brazil international is expected to lead the attack for Liverpool and it should not be a surprise for the fans if he comes up with some sparkling performances. However, the reason he has made it on to this list is the fact that he has every chance to score 20+ goals this season, which will surely be a surprise for most fans. He has the ability to turn into such a striker and with the pace of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah on the wings, along with the creativity of Philippe Coutinho just behind him, his output is bound to improve and there is every chance he can score more than 20 goals for Liverpool next season.
