Swansea City have found it tough to get results in their favour since the start of the new season and were searching for a victory to re-energize themselves after the thrashing at the hands of the current league leaders Manchester United. And they finally got their much-desired victory in their last match against Crystal Palace in a 2-0 win.
The man in charge at the Liberty Stadium, Paul Clement, is still struggling with his inability to start the season without his side’s talisman Gylfi Sigurdsson, who left the club to join fellow Premier League rivals Everton this summer. However, it seems that the French tactician has finally got the right man to take up the anchor role in his side, with his eyes fixed on the Portuguese sensation Renato Sanches, who is currently playing for the German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
The 20-year-old is one of the most highly regarded players in the current scenario and showed his class in the historic Euro Cup triumph of his national team Portugal in 2016, playing a major role in all the matches of the tournament. His swift footwork and brilliant skills with the ball made him the centre of attraction for a number of European clubs including the likes of Manchester United and Bayern Munich. The Bavarians finally won the battle and captured the prized scalp, with Sanches signing for them in the same year.
However, things did not work out the way they were supposed to for the Portuguese youngster at the Allianz Arena, as he found it really difficult to settle down in Germany in the last term. Known for his attacking intent from his Benfica days, the 20-year-old has not been able to score a single goal so far for his club in 26 appearances that he has made for them. This has literally made him an outcast at Bayern Munich, especially with their current coach Carlo Ancelotti finding it difficult to have faith in him and let him feature in his team for the forthcoming matches.
This has irked a number of clubs from all over Europe including the Premier League to have a try at bringing the youngster into their side for the new season. Swansea, who are currently looking to add some considerable firepower to their strike force along with finding a good enough replacement for their talismanic midfielder Sigurdsson, are interested in signing the Portuguese sensation from Bayern Munich, with just a couple of more days left till the closure of the transfer window for this summer.
