The deadline day is knocking on the door and clubs have already started implementing their plans in a bid to make amends in a last-ditch effort. Premier League has already seen a number of big money players arrive in England and with the transfer markets about to close in four days time, we could expect some of the most famous players to arrive in the English top tier.
Swansea City has been quite busy in the transfer market picking up players as per their need. Paul Clement only had a brief period of time at the Liberty Stadium last season and he showed some promise by helping them stay afloat in the top flight.
With the Premier League slowly entering its competitive phase, the competition is going to be very tough. According to reports, Swansea City are considering a move for Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe.
Surprisingly, despite his lack of sharpness up front, Clement preferred to bring in a much inexperienced Tammy Abraham on loan at Swansea City to give the ageing legs of Fernando Llorente a relief. The Swans had a pretty good start to their new campaign as they fought back brilliantly from their 4-0 loss at the hand of Manchester United to downsize Crystal Palace 2-0 in the last match.
It was a dominating display from the Swans and they made a pretty strong statement as they were playing without their two pivotal players of last season Fernando Llorente and Gylfi Sigurdsson. Llorente is trying to get into his rhythm after fracturing his hand while the Icelandic playmaker bid good bye to the Liberty Park as he joined Everton recently.
Bournemouth are believed to be in an alarming situation as Eddie Howe fears they might breach the FFP rule after their heavy investment in the summer. In a bid to survive the scare, he has put Afobe for sale and is ready to let go the player for the appropriate price.
Afobe has never been the first choice at the Vitality Stadium and was sparingly used in the last season. Despite his bit part role, he managed to put the ball into the net six times and could be an effective back up for the Welsh outfit.
A product of the Arsenal’s Academy, Afobe is just 24 years of age and would offer some pace to the side. An offer in the region of £12m should be enough to tempt him for a move, but should Swansea move for him?
