The player is known for his defensive abilities along with his leadership qualities, which made him one of the most dependable figures in the backline last season. Along with that, his towering frame in the heart of his defence has been considered good enough to make him a part of any of the top clubs in the Premier League.

Southampton are having some problems in their current squad with their mainstay in defence Virgil Van Dijk looking to leave the team this summer.
