Having invested some serious amount of money in the transfer market to bring in top class players in the form of Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic from Premier League rivals Everton and Chelsea, Manchester United are looking up and ready for their first match against West Ham United in the Premier League this season. The Red Devils, who had a pretty disappointing campaign in the last term, are looking forward to turn the tables this time around and will look to start off with a win under their belt.
However, it will not be very easy for the former champions to get three points from their opening fixture as they will face one of the most resilient sides of the Premier League in the form of West Ham United, who also have brought in a number of new players into their team for this season, including the ex-Red Devils striker Javier Hernandez and will be looking to give the mighty Manchester United side a run for money in the opening match of their campaign. All in all, it is expected that the match will be a good and equally contested one.
Defence-
David De Gea will be in goal. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will have some injury worries in the back of his mind, with players like Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw remaining on the sideline with their injuries, which kept them out of action for most of the time in the last season as well. However, he will be availing the services of his new Swedish centre back Victor Lindelof, who was brought in from the Portuguese Primeira Liga champions Benfica in the summer. The big and strong defender will be paired with Eric Bailley in the heart of the backline for Manchester United.
Midfield-
Ashley Young is still out of contention to feature for the Red Devils and will be kept out of the contest against the Hammers. New signing Nemanja Matic will be paired with Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera to stabilise the midfield for the Red Devils.
Attack-
Though fit, Anthony Martial might not be the first choice to start the proceedings for Manchester United. English forward Marcus Rashford is set to start, supporting Belgian marksman Romelu Lukaku, who was the second highest goal scorer in the last season with Everton.
With all the new signings set to feature for them in their opening fixture against the Hammers, the line-up is going to look something like this for the Red Devils-
David De Gea, Antonio Valencia, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Matteo Darmian, Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku
