Manchester United have had the most satisfying start to the campaign this season and is by far the only Premier League side whose league results are true to the multi-million-pound signings that the Red Devils did over the summer.
However, it cannot be ignored that they have faced only West Ham United and Swansea City so far, who are easily not the strongest of sides in the league. Their next opponent, Leicester City, could be a tough nut to crack by all means, given the results they have had in the opening two games. While Leicester lost to Arsenal, they scored three goals away from home, and their win over Brighton & Hove Albion was pretty straight forward.
Jose Mourinho would be wary of their fierce counters and wouldn’t want his side to be uber-adventurous while moving forward.
Predicted 4-3-3 Manchester United Line-up vs Leicester City
Defence
The position under the bar should be taken by David De Gea. The Spaniard hasn’t really been tested this season so far with United fully dominating the two games for the whole 90 minutes. But the likes of Jamie Vardy, Shinji Okazaki and Demarai Gray should be expected to keep him busy.
While most clubs in the league have resorted to the three-man defence, Jose Mourinho has stuck to the conservative four-man backline. We expect United to start with Eric Bailly and Phil Jones in the middle with Daley Blind and Antonio Valencia taking the defensive flanks.
Mourinho still misses left back Luke Shaw who is yet to return to full match fitness. He has been playing Blind out of position and would hope to remain unexploited going into the tricky fixture from that position. Apart from him, Marcos Rojo remains a long-term absentee with a knee injury.
Midfield
The two-man pivotal midfield is expected to field Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic. After one full season of vile criticism, Mourinho has finally managed to get the perfect partner for the towering French midfielder. The Serbian has been the perfect cover for Pogba bringing out the best in him.
The attacking midfielder is expected to be Henrikh Mkhitaryan and quite surprisingly, the Armenian international has been productive from a central role where he hardly gets to stretch the opponent, which is his strength. He has provided four assists in two games so far.
Attack
The flanks are likely to be taken by Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata, who have complimented Mkhitaryan justly. The sole striker will Romelu Lukaku, who is on fire at the moment with three goals in two games.
